North Jakarta Cleanliness has done budget savings as much as Rp 9 billion. The budget can be saved after private side is no longer involved in trash transportation in Pademangan Sub-District, since January-December 2015.
While other five sub-districts, they are still involving private sector
Head of North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Bondan Diah Ekowati disclosed all this time, trash transpotation in North Jakarta is done by 83 armadas owned by North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, assisted by 75 units from private sector.
All this time, such transporation involves private sector with a budget of Rp 75 million per year. After no longer involving, the city administration can save Rp 9 billion since January 2015 until now.

To save trash transportation budget, he continued, from January 2016, his side would impose policy to conduct trash transportation in Tanjung Priok, Koja, Kelapa Gading, Cilincing and Penjaringan Sub-Districts by not involving private sector.
"Starting 2016, trash transportation all over sub-district will be done without private sector, that is by sending 183 armadas of Cleanliness Sub-Department. By doing so, the budget can be allocated to schools or health service," he disclosed.
As planned, Cleanliness Sub-Department would get additional around 60 units from Jakarta Cleanliness Department. Additionally, the shovel will also be added up to three units or totally reach eleven units.
